Time Flies....

Dear Cadence,

It's been WAY to long since Momma has written to you! I guess life has just been a little crazy. You've had 2 "birthdays"... it's hard to believe that our baby girl is 21 months old already. Time sure flies when your having fun!

So in the past couple months, life has changed so so much! We just moved into a new house, it's very cute and I think it will be perfect for us. We got a new car (PT Cruiser) and then traded it for a GMC Yukon... this truck we will keep for a long time! You seem to love both the new house and the new truck, now we can take your big brother bears to the lake inthe summer time.

Oh and one very exciting thing... Papa and Omy moved to Alberta! They got a house in Sylvan Lake and it sure is nice to have them close by. You have really enjoyed being able to go over the visit them over the past couple weeks.

And we celebrated Christmas a few days ago and girl you got spoiled!!! You got tons and tons of clothes, a kitchen, coloring stuff, toy phone, a talking puppy and some other things. We had dinner at our house on Christmas Eve with Papa, Omy, Uncle Croix, Mommy and Daddy... it was so yummy! And on Christmas day we went to Edmonton to Uncle Larry and Aunty Selene's house for another very yummy dinner. We had a great Christmas, but sure did miss everyone in BC... you got to talk to everyone at Meme and Pepe's house on Christmas Eve.

It's been a very crazy couple months and Momma sure hopes things slow down in the New Year. And I promise to write to you much much more in the New Year! Until then... Happy "Birthday's", Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I love you so very much baby girl and I look forward to future!

No longer a baby

Dear Cadence,

So much has changed! Your no longer a little baby, your a toddler. But of course you will always be our baby.

It's so funny to watch you run around the house, talk up a storm, and dance like crazy. You LOVE to dance and your favorite song seems to be Like a G6. Your favorite saying at the moment is "Oh yeah"... you walk around the house saying it over and over again.

Well it was just Halloween and you were the cutest Lady Bug. At first you weren't to sure about the whole trick or treating thing, but after about 10 houses you were saying trick or treat and even trying to sneak extra candy from each bowl. You did so good!

Your such a little character these days... always laughing and then theres the time you push the limits. You sure do have an attitude to go along with that big smile and dimples, but I guess you come by that naturally. No matter what, we love you so much!

19 Month Birthday

Dear Cadence,

Happy 19 Month Birthday to my sweet girl! Momma has watched you change so much in the last 19 months and I have loved every second of it!

You now have 10 teeth, you walk, run and dance your little heart out. You talk like crazy! Everyday is an adventure when your around, always learning new things. Mommy loves you so much!

Now if you can believe it... it snowed last night! The first snow fall of the year and on your birthday. So today, we will go out and take some pictures of you playing in the snow!

Potty

Dear Cadence,

Monkey, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you, today you pooped in the potty like a big girl! We just bought you a new potty seat and tonight was your first time trying it out. Mommy sat you on the potty and you wouldn't even let me hold you on... you have to do everything on your own! But you sat there for a couple minutes and then pooped!

"Momma"

Dear Cadence,

This morning Momma was able to get up and have some time alone while you slept, it was very nice.! As I sat on the couch and read Chicken Soup for the Mother's Soul the story brought tears to my eyes. It was a story about a little boy named Andy that had died of cancer, he was only 8 years old.

His Momma had been writing him letter everyday, pretending to be a secret friend. These letters are what he looked forward to every morning. after his death, his Momma went on to help other little kids with cancer and other diseases, by writing them "love letters" to keep a smile on their faces. It was an amazing story!

I know I don't write this blog to you because your sick, you are perfectly healthy and I thank god for that every day! But I do it so that one day you can look back and read the letters and know of all the things you did growing up. I love you so much my sweet blue eyed girl!

Now, back to my alone time... as I sat there on the couch I heard the most amazing sound... it was you! Out of the bedroom I heard you call "MOM!" It is the best feeling to hear you say mom!

Cadence I can't imagine our life without you, you truly are a miracle. I love you so much monkey!

Your new friend

Dear Cadence,

Today you met your new friend Elliot, he is exactly one month younger then you. The two of you seem to get a long very well and Mommy is excited for you to have a little friend to play with. We will be looking after him 2 days a week, while his Mommy is at work.

Life... our wonderful life

Dear Cadence,

It sure has been a long time since Mommy wrote to you, sorry! Life gets busy and Mommy forgets, however I'm always thinking about great things to tell you about... but they never seem to transfer to the computer. Oh well!

Well life has become crazier then before... mainly because your into everything and my little wild child! But Momma loves every moment of it! You walk and talk and run and sing and dance and play (sometimes all by yourself in your room), your just growing so much. Your not a baby anymore, your a toddler... how amazing!

The word toddler never really crossed my mind, until recently. And I was so sad... I know your growing up and that's what happens, but in my eyes you will always be my BABY! Toddler just makes you seem like such a big girl, which you are, but Momma wants you to be small for longer. I guess you will always be my baby, even when your 25.

Now for the updates... you now have 7 teeth! 4 on top and 2 on the bottom... also a molar coming in on the top. Your little teeth are so cute and we make sure they are brushed everyday! We need those little guys to stay strong and healthy!

You have a beautiful new cousin, her name is Addasyn Lee and was born on August 18th at 11:44am weighing 9 Lbs 9 Ozs and 22.5 inches long. She looks just like her Momma, Aunty Britt... nice tanned skin and big brown eyes. And Cadence Mae, I think you loved her from the moment you laid eyes on her! You gave her a kiss right away and wanted to hold her. We spent a couple weeks in BC with Addasyn and Aunty Britt and I think you enjoyed every second of her company!

Well that is all for now... you are currently pulling on my arm and crying! Bed time for one little girl! Momma loves you Cadence!

Talking, talking, talking!

Dear Cadence,

Mommy cannot believe how much you have changed in the last month! You have SO much hair now... enough for piggy tails and even the odd little pony in the back! You no longer just walk, you run EVERYWHERE! Your such a crazy little girl and Mommy is enjoying every moment of the craziness!

And then theres the talking... you talk A LOT! Not always real words, I think you have your own language. But you sure make a lot of noise. Last night you were saying "HOT, DAD and MOM" we are so proud of you! The odd time you have said DOG and you can also say HI and BYE. I know one day soon you will say everything, but for now Mommy is enjoying the few words you say.

Now aside from those words, you have started making this terrible sound! Seriously child, you sound like a dinosaur! When you want something you stand at our feet squawking like a dino... I'm hoping we can teach you some sign language and the dino noises will stop! Your one crazy little girl!

No for other updates... you have 6 teeth, 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. You eat everything we eat, but I think your going through a picky stage! Your still breastfeeding, mainly at night. Your just helping your little sister out!

We will be making the long trip to BC around that time, in order to be there for her birth. Mommy and Daddy hope you will be good on the long drive... I guess it's that time that we need to get things to entertain you on long drives.

Life as we know it...

Dear Cadence,

Well first of all.... HAPPY 15 MONTH BIRTHDAY (yesterday)!!! Momma cannot believe you are already 15 months old... your growing SO fast!

Life has been so busy lately!! We moved, again! But this house is where we are planning to stay for a long time! We moved to Red Deer and it's a very nice house.

Your walking EVERYWHERE and almost running! When we go to the store, you don't even want to hold hands anymore... you want to do everything on your own. It's so cute to see you walking all over the place, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

You now have 6 teeth, 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. You eat anything and everything... girl those chompers are strong ones! And you sure love to brush them, I think it's one of your fav things to do... sit on the bathroom counter and brush your teeth.

Your hair is getting so long now! Momma can put little piggy tails on top of your head... of course they stand straight up, but they look so cute!

Yesterday was your 14 month birthday.... Happy Birthday! It's hard to believe that your 14 months old already! Not only are you 14 months old... but your almost walking, you have 4 teeth and 2 more coming in. You are just an amazing little girl! Momma loves you Monkey.

Plane rides, teething, walking....

Dear Cadence,

What a crazy life we live...

In the last month, you had your first ride on an airplane and you did great! You slept the entire way to BC, which was only an hour flight... but you still slept as soon as we left he ground and even slept through the landing. And on the way home you were wide awake, and the girls sitting beside us truly enjoyed your face making.

The reason we flew to BC, was for our girls weekend in Sun Peaks and girl it was fun! We did A LOT of walking and of course chatting, what else would you do with 18 women in one house?! Momma took you in the hot tub, you really enjoyed crawling up the stairs with Gramma and Aunty Britt. However you were a big Momma suck the entire trip... if I was out of your sight, you were one unhappy little girl, but that's ok. It was a great trip and we had so much fun, but we sure happy to see Daddy when we got home!

You now have 4 teeth... well the two bottom ones are getting big and the two tops ones are still just little fellas. But there are 4 of them in there, and you can see two more trying to come out! And girl can you ever bite... I think you almost took Momma finger off he other day, but I guess that's what I get for sticking my finger in your mouth.

Not only can you crawl faster then some people can walk... but you've started trying to walk! You have taken up to 6 steps before doing a bum drop onto the ground! It is truly the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life! Mommy and Daddy have been trying to help you build your confidence and walk a little farther, I can't wait to watch you run around the house.

As for sleeping... you still sleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed! Sleeping is a work in progress for us, but we are working on it! You almost sleep through the night, it just happens to be right between Mom and Dad... but we love to cuddle you! One day you will sleep in your own bed for the entire night, and I'm sure when that day comes Momma and Daddy will be both proud and sad! So until then, we will enjoy our nights in bed with you, because it won't be that way forever!

We are so proud of he little person you have become! I love you so much Monkey!

Updates

Dear Cadence,

I just wanted to give a few updates on our life, well your life and what you've been up to!

1. Your top 2 teeth are coming in at the moment. They have been causing you to have a runny nose, fever and be a very cranky girl.
2. Your talking up a storm these days... saying Momma, Dadda, what, yeah.... just to name a couple words. Then of course there are the "non" words that you say and babble, it's so cute!
3. You have been attempting to walk, by attempting I mean, you can walk along furniture and with your walker. There have been a couple times that you've taken "half" a step and almost starting walking... I'm sure it will be soon enough and you will be running around the house after the dogs.

There are so many other things you've been doing, eating everything, dancing to music, laughing like crazy, and your "Oh No" trick... when we say "oh no" you put your hands on your head, it's the cutest thing! Mommy loves you so much! And I'm sure there are so many more updates to give, but that's all Momma has for now :) I love you

13 Months Old

Dear Cadence,

I can't believe that you turned 13 months old yesterday! It's amazing how fast your growing and what a little character you've become. You either babbling like crazy or making the funniest faces I've ever seen. But no matter what, you always put a smile on my face and I'm so thankful for that. Momma loves you so much Monkey and I'm so happy to have been blessed with your cute little face! Happy 13 Month Birthday and I love you.

Moved in...

Dear Cadence,

Well we are all moved into our new house now, it's very nice and much much bigger then the old one! You even have your own room now and you sure seem to know that it's your room. However you still sleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed, I guess you just like to snuggle.

It's nice to be back in Alberta and for Daddy to be back at Finning, but also sad that everyone is so far away. Everything happens for a reason though, Bug! Our family and friends will come visit and we will go back to BC to visit them. Life will be great here in Alberta and hopefully soon we can buy our own house.

Life....

Dear Cadence,

Well our life had been pretty crazy busy the past couple weeks! We had your first birthday to prepare for and girl you got spoiled! I have never seen so many presents for such a small person. You sure are a much loved little Monkey.

 Momma, Gramma, and you went to Harrison for the weekend. It was a lot of fun! We went shopping and stayed in a very nice hotel room. You even got to go swimming with Gramma and Mommy.

Then there was Easter! You got a big yellow duck and some chocolate from the easter bunny. We went for dinner at Great Gramma and Grampy's house.... a very very yummy dinner.

And now we are busy packing our house, Daddy got called back to work at Finning and we are moving back to Alberta. It's going to be a sad move, but we hope everyone will come and visit us!

Time for Momma to put you to bed Miss Monkey. Momma loves you so much!

Daddy's in Fraser Lake

Dear Cadence,

Today Daddy (a very very sad Daddy) had to go to Fraser Lake to work for 10 days. He has been dreading this trip since he found out about it and really did not want to go. But, he he had to go. And before he left the house this morning he wrote you a little message....

Dear Cadence,

On Friday night, Momma was sitting on the couch with you and like usual you were trying to eat my face. However this time as you bit down on Momma's chin, it hurt! That's when we noticed a cute little tooth coming in. How exciting!!! You finally have a tooth!

Valentine's Day

Swimming with Papa

Dear Cadence,

Today you had your 3rd set of swimming lessons, of course you did great! It was your first time wearing a life jacket, but you weren't so sure of it. And Papa came out to go swimming with you.



You sure seemed to enjoy having Papa and Daddy in the pool with you. Momma and Oma took lots and lots of pictures. And after swimming, Papa and Oma took us out for brunch. It was a lot of fun.

Your getting to be such a big girl, Monkey! Momma loves you so much!

Truck Keys....UH-OH

Dear Cadence,

With all the excitement of the torch relay, Momma forgot to tell you what happened on Monday! Well we were just about to leave to go to Gramma's to watch the torch again... Momma was just fixing your car seat and I had you in the stroller. I guess you got a hold of the truck keys and pressed the lock button. Momma heard the horn honk like it does when you lock the truck with the key fob... and in my head I thought unlock the doors. But I forgot to do it.

When I was done adjusting the car seat, I put you into it. Then I put my cell phone, the truck key and everything else in the truck. And I thought to myself DON'T CLOSE THE DOOR! But what did I do?... I closed the door and you were locked in!

At the second the door closed I felt my heart break! It was a HORRIBLE feeling, you were inside the truck all alone and I was outside of it! I started to cry a little and thought about breaking a window. Instead I ran to the house and banged on the door, hoping that Doug would know how to break into the truck. Unfortunately he didn't know how! So he called a tow truck for us and Momma sat outside the truck waiting. All the while you smiled and laughed at me, seeing as I was just peaking in the window at you.

Thank god we got you out quickly. That was the worst experience ever. Momma loves you Monkey and please don't ever lock yourself in the truck again.

Olympic Torch Relay

Dear Cadence,

Yesterday we went to watch the Olympic torch relay, twice. First we watched the torch come through Maple Ridge and then through Newton in the afternoon.



It was an amazing experience. Momma took lots of pictures and video taped it. I hope you enjoyed it as much as Mommy did. And you even got 2 flags. I love you sweet girl!

Dear Cadence,

There have been a few time that you've crawled... but today seems to be the turning point! All of the sudden your crawling ALL over the house! In the kitchen, living room, hallway.... so far everywhere but the bedroom! I guess there's no stopping you now time to baby proof! I love you Monkey!

Swimming Lesson #2

Dear Cadence,

Today was your second swimming lesson and you did a great job. Mommy and Daddy both came into the pool with you and we loved every minute of it. You went completely under the water for the first time today and you didn't even cry, you just blinked your eyes a couple times and continued swimming! And Daddy took you down the slide for the first time as well! We are so proud of you.



As your swimming instructor said, you had an entourage there to watch you today! Gramma, Auntie Britt, Auntie Katie, Auntie Amanda, Uncle Justin, Uncle Dillon, Uncle Cole, Great Gramma and Great Grampy all came to watch you. Uncle Justin took lots of pictures for Momma and they all really enjoyed watching you. Your becoming a great little swimmer! Momma loves you so much Monkey!

A Visit from Gramma...

Dear Cadence,

Today Gramma, Auntie Britt and Auntie Amanda came over to visit us. We had a great time with them. They even brought us some treats, you got puffs, fruit snacks and cheesie's and Momma got a Timmie's coffee! It was a great visit!

And of course they took lots of pictures of you and you in return stuck your tongue out and did your squishy face. The usual Cadence things. Always up for a laugh, giggle, smile, screech, and a LOT of talking.

What is sleep?

Dear Cadence,

Mommy was just wondering, what happened to my baby that liked to sleep? You wet to bed last night at 8pm, slept great for about an hour and then woke up screaming. Daddy tried to put you back to sleep, but he didn't have any luck, so you came out and sat on the couch with Momma. And for some reason you did a lot of crying, before you finally fell asleep.

Then Momma put you in your bed at around 1030pm and you slept until 1am, then it was time to wake up, or so you thought. Momma tried everything to get you back to sleep, with no luck! We sat in the living room and watched cartoons from 2am until 530am.

By 530am we were both falling asleep on the couch, so we went back to bed. Momma brought you into bed with her and at last we went to sleep. But it was short lived! By just after 7am you were wide awake again. Thus leading us to get up.

You are currently playing with your toys and talking away, and Momma is fighting to keep her eyes open. Nap time can't come soon enough!!!

So my question is.... WHERE DID MY BABY THAT LIKES TO SLEEP GO?? You never sleep right through the night (well we have had 4 nights that you slept through) but you usually sleep pretty good. So whats going on with you my dear? The past few weeks have been late nights and early mornings, mixed with 2-3 wake ups throughout the night. Mommy really hopes that this is just a phase, that will end soon! Mommy is so tired! I love you baby girl, please please please start sleeping better for me!

Today you said Mom for the first time! You just looked at me and blurted it out, MOM! What a great day it was for Momma! It almost made me cry. Mommy loves you so much Monkey.

Backwards Crawler

Dear Cadence,

Well Monkey, it's official... you've become a backwards "crawler"! You just started this yesterday and now you can just fly around the house. It's amazing how fast you can go! Momma video taped the first of the "crawling" it's very very cute! I guess there's no stopping you now and soon you will be full out crawling around the house.

Daddy's in Whistler again :(

Dear Cadence,

Last week Daddy was in Whistler working all week and he's there again this week! It sucks that he's gone all week... but he's working so hard for us and Mommy is so thankful for that!

Well today we are going for a play date with Johanna and Preston. Mommy thinks you will have a great time. And then Auntie Diane and Uncle Jason are coming over tonight for dinner... they haven't seen you for a couple days and are missing you like crazy! Anyways, Mommy should get ready for the day, I love you Monkey.

Girls Week...

Dear Cadence,

This week Daddy had to go away to Whistler for work and it's just you and me at home, with Cuda and Diesel of course. It going to be a lonely week without Daddy and we will miss him so much, but Momma is so happy to be able to spend the week with you. I love you baby girl!

Ps... yesterday we went and got our H1N1 shot and the seasonal flu shot. Both were horrible and Mommy hated every second of it. Mommy ended up feeling really sick last night, but it was gone by this morning. And you had a bad fever... your still a little warm, but not too bad. I hope it was the right decision to get the shots, I guess we will just have to wait and see.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! On New Years Eve you managed to stay awake until 12am with Mommy, while Daddy slept on the couch. It was great to ring in the new year with such a cute little girl...

Mommy just wanted to reflect on 2009, so here goes...

The BEST part of 2009 was March 25th at 11:17am, when we welcomed you into the world! This was after a very long labor and equally "long" pregnancy. But no matter how many scares we had throughout the pregnancy and labor... March 25th was the best day of mine and Daddy's lives.

So there have been some other changes in our lives in the past year... we moved back to BC from Alberta. It was a sad move, but we wanted you to grow up around family, even though we love Alberta so much. During our move back we were very thankful to have such a supportive family. We stayed at Great Gramma's for a while, the at Gramma's and lastly at Papa's before we got our own place. Each place was great and we are so happy that everyone was willing to help us out so much, but it was also very hard for Mommy and Daddy to move back "home" after having been on our own for so long. But everything happens for a reason...

Now back to you...

You have changed so much over the past 9 months! On March 25 2009 you were 5 Lbs 13 oz and today you are 18 Lbs 2 oz! Not only have you grown so much, but you've learned so much and taught Mommy and Daddy more things than you can ever imagine!

Momma could go on for hours about how amazing the last year has been... but I'm not going to ;) Just know that you are the best thing that has ever happened to us and we look forward to a life full of love with you. We are so proud to call you our daughter and love you more than anything in the world! I love you Monkey!
